Activities for Kids at Dead Horse Point
The Legend of Dead Horse Point: Cowboys corralled wild mustangs on the Point, then chose the horses they wanted. One time, for some unknown reason, horses were left corralled on the waterless point where they died of thirst. The legend in itself puts young imaginations to work as they explore this amazing park.
In addition to the Intrepid Trail, there are hiking paths along the rim that lead to various overlooks. Take a self-guided nature hike or explore the ten miles of paved and primitive hiking trails. Please keep a close eye on children and all pets must be on a leash with a maximum length of 6 feet.
Throughout the year, the park offers family programs that are fun and interesting for all family members.
